There are hundreds of articles and studies on how to increase your office productivity using technology. A simple online search will provide results from many sources.

Among them, the ones that are mentioned again and again and are proven to work:

+ Have each workstation with 2 screens. This increases productivity by at least 10%.

+ Allow staff to work remotely. The commutes time and its frustration disappear, and a familiar environment is mentally beneficial.

+ Be clear and direct when talking to your coworkers. Whether it’s praise or criticism, transparency, honesty and directness make people trust their directors.

+ Let them rest. Avoid burnout, and respect work hours, i.e. not calling or emailing them outside that timeframe. Only a few key personnel can be bothered with urgent matters, and these people should know that at contract signing.

So, not even in a “crisis” should people be bothered with a call. If it is an emergency, the number to call is 911.
